Protecting the Home from Storm Damage with a Complete Gutter & Roofing Solution
Challenge
Earlier this year, our team completed a project in Springfield, Oregon, where a homeowner was experiencing ongoing issues with their gutter system. The old gutters were spilling over during storms, causing erosion that was threatening the foundation and walkway.
When Chris arrived to assess the situation, he found that the gutters were in poor condition and “under-sized for his application.” During the inspection, Chris also noticed that the roof was “curling and brittle,” revealing another area of the home that needed attention. With both the gutter system and roof showing signs of wear, the homeowner needed a solution that would address the immediate stormwater concerns while also improving the overall condition of the home.
Solution
After assessing the home earlier this year, Chris offered a quote for larger gutters and a 50-year Klaus Roof to address both the gutter and roofing concerns. The larger gutters were recommended after Chris found that the existing gutters were “under-sized for his application,” while the roofing solution addressed the roof that was “curling and brittle.”
The homeowner was very happy with the proposed solution, including the “methods, materials and scope of work.” Chris explained that the homeowner “felt comfortable with Klaus because of our reputation,” which gave them confidence in moving forward with the recommended improvements.
By addressing both the gutter system and the roof, the project provided a more complete solution for the home rather than focusing only on the original gutter concerns. The case study was completed for January, so this wording keeps the project timeline in the past while allowing the case study to be shared now.
