Klaus Roofing Systems of Oregon Case Studies: Oakridge, OR Building Owner No Longer Concerned About Leaks Now That It Is Re-Roofed

Challenge

This Oakridge, OR resident used our sister division’s attic insulation services a few years ago and contacted us for a roofing quote. The old roof was leaking, and she knew this needed to be addressed before it started to cause water damage inside and had been advised to replace the roof.

Solution

Our Inspector Wendy investigated the roof. We actually get on the roof to see what is going on. The roof was worn out and had moss on one side (photo 1). She then shared with the owner her findings and recommendations.

In photo 2, you can also see the tape used along the seams. Not every roofer takes this extra step against potential leaks.

The roofing crew then installed the special “ice and water” underlayment 3 feet up from the edge, the IKO RoofGuard underlayment, and galvanized steel drip metal on the eaves and rake edges (photo 3). We then re-shingled with IKO Cambridge shingles (photo 4). No more concern about leaks now!
